Appropriate conditions for the organization of quality nutrition within the planned reform have already been created for more than a million schoolchildren.

This was announced by the Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet during the forum “Reform of the school nutrition system”.
According to him, the goal of school nutrition reform is to create a safe and healthy educational environment that will contribute to the better realization of intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
“Due to the educational subvention in 1809 schools with more than a million students, appropriate conditions have already been created for the organization of quality food: obsolete technological equipment has been completely or partially renewed, food units have been repaired, ventilation systems have been installed, electricity networks have been repaired, and drinking water quality has improved.” – the Minister of Education emphasized.
He also noted that the priorities for the Ministry of Education in the reform process remain the modernization of food units, the organization of outreach work on building a healthy nutrition system, and improving the professional capacity of all those involved in the organization of school meals.
The Ministry of Education stressed that the reform of school nutrition, aimed at building a healthy eating system, forming a culture of nutrition and proper eating habits and are carried out in accordance with the National Strategy for building a safe and healthy educational environment in the New Ukrainian School.
