Lockdown in Australia’s largest city, Sydney, has been extended for the whole of September, and stricter restrictions have been imposed since Friday, including a curfew and mandatory wearing of masks outdoors.

Sydney’s isolation was due to end on August 28, but the state government announced that it would last until September 30.
The curfew will run from 21:00 to 17:00 on Monday, August 23, in the most affected suburbs of Sydney.
Wearing masks will become mandatory throughout the state outside the home.
For the fourth day in a row, the number of daily cases of COVID-19 in New South Wales exceeds 600: 642 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.
Australia’s largest city has been on lockdown since June 26, 10 days after the Delta coronavirus was first discovered in Sydney.
Since then, 65 people have died from the coronavirus in New South Wales, including four in the last 24 hours.
