Military wounded in Donbas will receive prizes by Independence Day. This was announced on Facebook by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Swirsky, signed an order to reward the Ground Forces servicemen who were injured in the area of the Joint Forces operation.
“For diligence, reasonable initiative, conscientious performance of official duties, courage and heroism shown in the struggle for freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence,” the document says.
The amount of the bonus depends on the severity of the injury and will range from UAH 2,500 to UAH 10,000.
Immediately after the annexation of Crimea in 2014, Russia launched armed aggression in eastern Ukraine. The fighting is between the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the one hand and the Russian army and Russian-backed militants who control parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on the other. Officially, the Russian Federation does not recognize its invasion of Ukraine, despite the facts and evidence presented by Ukraine.
According to the UN, from April 14, 2014, to June 30, 2021, 3,901 civilians, about 4,200 Ukrainian soldiers, and about 5,800 militants were killed as a result of the conflict in Donbas.
On July 22, 2020, the Trilateral Contact Group agreed on a full and comprehensive ceasefire in Donbas from midnight on July 27. At the beginning of 2021, the situation in Donbas worsened. The Ukrainian side regularly reports cases of violation of the ceasefire by militants. During the year of the ceasefire, 45 Ukrainian servicemen were killed and 163 were injured, the TCG reported on July 27.
