The starting matches of the first round of the group stage of the European Women’s Volleyball Championship, in which the Ukrainian national team is birch, took place.

In the opening match of the European Championship, the women’s national team of Ukraine made the powerful team of the Netherlands nervous only sporadically. Accordingly, in the confrontation with formidable rivals, Vladimir Orlov’s wards were defeated – 0: 3 (17:25, 12:25, 22:25).
Other matches in our group ended as follows: Romania – Turkey – 1: 3, Sweden – Finland – 3: 2.
In the next round on August 20, Ukraine will play against Turkey (20:30). The first four teams from the group will advance to the playoffs.
