In Ukraine, 2.273 million cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 have already been recorded, an increase over the day on August 20 – 1.7 thousand, an increase against the figure the day before. 616 people were hospitalized per day, which is more than the day before. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

“For the day of August 20, 2021, in Ukraine recorded 1,732 new confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19 (including children – 104, health professionals – 32),” – said in a statement.
Also for the past 24hrs:
- 616 people were hospitalized;
- fatalities – 38;
- recovered – 763 people.
During the day, 27,444 people were tested
by PCR, – 8,462 people
by ELISA, – 20,019 people by
rapid tests.
During the whole pandemic in Ukraine:
- 2,273,558 people fell ill;
- recovered – 2,200,763 people;
- fatalities – 53,432;
- PCR tests were performed – 11,800,769.
Over the last 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in Kyiv (232), Kharkiv (156), Dnipropetrovsk (148), Odesa (127), and Zaporizhia (119) oblasts.
Quarantine to counter the spread of a new type of coronavirus in Ukraine was introduced on March 12, 2020. Then it was repeatedly continued and transferred to the form of adaptive quarantine in the summer.
