This year, gardeners in Ukraine and Europe expect a record high yield of apples. However, due to a large number of offers, as well as difficulties with exports to Asia, the cost of apples can be significantly reduced.

According to experts, this year the prices for apples may reach the level of 2019, where the average price for the season was about 6-7 UAH / kg.
“Undoubtedly, weather anomalies, such as hail or heavy rain, can damage the crop, which can affect its value. However, today a high yield of apples is forecast in our country and Europe. Although the final price will be formed in September after the farmers’ harvest, “said Taras Bashtannyk, president of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA).
According to him, the local product will be sold domestically and exported. From year to year, Ukraine is increasing its presence in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, Singapore, and Europe. At the same time, apples are supplied to the markets of Asian and Eastern countries by sea, and maritime logistics is not experiencing the best of times.
“It’s expensive and difficult now. If the problems of maritime logistics are solved, the apple will sail to Asia and the Arab countries. It is much easier to send to Europe, as it is delivered by truck, “the expert explained.
