The next day after Merkel’s visit, on August 23, the Crimean Platform summit will take place. It will be attended by more than 40 representatives of states and organizations.
Nikiforov noted that Merkel had been invited to take part in the Crimean Platform summit, but the President’s Office did not know whether she would stay west after meeting with Zelensky.
By the way, before visiting Ukraine on August 20, Merkel will go to Moscow. There she plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
