Russia’s FSB detained a Ukrainian citizen in Tula who allegedly “collected secret information about the latest weapons on behalf of Ukrainian intelligence.”

“The Federal Security Service in Tula detained a Ukrainian citizen at the crime scene, who was collecting information that is a state secret about the latest weapons and secret technical documentation for them,” the Central Security Service said. According to the FSB, “a foreigner on behalf of the intelligence services of Ukraine searched for employees of Russian defense companies from among the secret carriers.”
“His goals were to recruit Russians and obtain from them legally protected information on promising developments in the field of small arms,” ??the FSB said.
A criminal case has been instituted against a citizen of Ukraine under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code (“Espionage”). He could face up to 10 to 20 years in prison. The FSB reported that the investigation is ongoing.
In July in Belgorod, Russia, the FSB detained members of an alleged “Ukrainian Radical Group.”
