The blue and yellow flag is not just one of the most important symbols of statehood and unity of our people. It is a sacred amulet that inspires and strengthens the spirit of the freedom-loving Ukrainian people, reminds them of their original struggle for independence and territorial integrity of the Motherland, affirms democratic principles, and the right of citizens to live in a prosperous European state.
Millions of Ukrainians gave their lives to set the flag in every corner of the country, and today Ukraine’s courageous sons and daughters are defending sovereignty in the south and east of the country at the cost of their lives – to make the State Flag of Ukraine majors in Donetsk, Luhansk, Simferopol, and other famous Ukrainian cities.
I am sure that the colors of our flag – blue sky and ripe wheat – will bring peace and happiness to Ukraine! Let the holiday unite Ukrainians! Reconcile us all, believe in victory and prosperity!
