The Netflix streaming platform premiered the animated film “The Witcher: The Horror of the Wolf”, which tells the story of a young Wesemir – the future mentor of Geralt from Rivia.

The film is based on a book saga about the sorcerer of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. It was announced at the WitcherCon festival, which Netflix co-hosted with CD Projekt RED, the creators of The Witcher’s role-playing action trilogy.

The animated film will be a prequel to the main series. “Horror of the Wolf” will tell about the young sorcerer Vesemir, who would later become the mentor of the famous White Wolf – Geralt of Rivia.
In the prequel, Vesemira was voiced by actor Theo James, known for the “Divergent” trilogy.
Other roles in the series were voiced by: Lara Pulver (played by Irene Adler in “Sherlock” with Benedict Cumberbatch), Mary McDonnell (Oscar winner for her role in “Dancing with Wolves”), Graham McTavish (starring in the trilogy Jackson).
The anime film was written by Lauren Hissrich, showrunner of the live-action series “The Witcher”.
