The State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine plans to launch an official National Tourism Organization in 2023.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – August 24, 2021 – Tourism and Travel
This was announced by the head of DART Maryana Oleskiv during the opening of the tourist festival “Travel Ukraine”, which takes place on August 22-24, 2021 on the territory of the open-air museum “Pirogovo”.
“It is very important for me to create a real national tourism organization and management system in tourism to change it from an exclusive state or municipal to a public-private partnership. Today, the first steps in this direction are being taken by the Ministry of Culture. For example, it is a museum.” Pirogovo, “where we are now, the Chornobyl zone, the island of Khortytsia,” Oleskiv explained.
At the same time, she clarified that currently in Ukraine there is no organizational and legal form that would allow making such an organization. Therefore, the first step towards this will be the adoption of a profile law on tourism, and the next – to write a profile law on the national tourism organization, as, for example, is in Turkey.
“We have to do everything to get the organization up and running in 2023. In 2022, we have to do all the training because we don’t want to create anything. Because we already have a state-owned enterprise in the Ministry of Culture called The National Tourism Organization “is still in the process of liquidation, we have a number of NGOs with this name,” she added.
The head of DART also announced the launch of the state program “Travel Ukraine” to promote tourism in Ukraine, which should be approved by the Cabinet this year, and earn – from 2022. In the near future, the agency should conduct a series of studies to assess the potential of each tourist destination.
