Ukrainian farmers are ready to take advantage of the favorable world situation to conquer new grain export markets, said the head of the State Food and Consumer Service Vladislava Magaletskaya, commenting on the report “Grain: World Markets and Trade” of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The USDA report, in particular, raised the forecast for wheat exports from Ukraine in the current marketing year by 2.5 million tons compared to the previous forecast (May-2021). The ministry’s experts expect that Ukraine, firstly, exports a record 23.5 million tons of wheat, and secondly, corn exports will also increase to 32 million tons.
“Together with business, we are closely monitoring the situation. The USDA report is a signal that we can move our competitors, ”Magaletska said.
She also stressed that the State Food and Consumer Service together with the Ministry of Economy are working to help Ukrainian farmers export grain without hindrance.
“We are actually ready to work in the” open window “mode for our exporters. At the same time, we call on businesses to show maximum responsibility so that the grain we send for export meets all the necessary norms and requirements, “Magaletska said.
The State Food and Consumer Service reported that in the first six months of 2021 it provided phytosanitary control for the export of 18.4 million tons of grain and oilseeds. Including – 13.5 million tons of corn, almost 4 million tons of wheat, 350 thousand tons of barley, and more than 390 thousand tons of soybeans.
