If we talk about the citizens of Ukraine, in three flights more than 50 people managed to return home from Afghanistan. In addition, among the citizens of Afghanistan who arrived on these flights were members of the families of Ukrainian citizens who flew home, the SBGS spokesman added.
According to Demchenko, measures were taken on all three flights to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He clarified that it is in particular about testing for coronavirus.
Where to place refugees from Afghanistan
The day before, the Kyiv Regional State Administration announced that 19 people evacuated from Afghanistan would temporarily live in a refugee station located in Yahotyn.
On the eve of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine announced that three evacuation Ukrainian flights took a total of 256 people from Afghanistan.
The first Ukrainian evacuation board from Kabul arrived in Ukraine on August 16. They managed to deport 79 citizens, 8 of whom were Ukrainians.
The second Ukrainian airplane arrived at Boryspil Airport on the morning of August 22. There were 83 citizens on board, 31 of whom were Ukrainians.
Another – the third – plane from Kabul landed in “Boryspil” on August 23. There were 98 evacuees on board, including 41 Ukrainian citizens, including 27 of their children.
