Sausage in the dough is considered a German invention.
In Germany, this dish is called Würstchen in Schlafrock, which literally means “sausage in a robe.” Traditionally, thin sausages are wrapped in puff or yeast dough and baked in the oven, but there are also simpler variations of cooking this simple snack. Today I will share with you a recipe for sausages in toast dough. For this dish, it is desirable to choose soft bread so that it does not crumble during folding.

Ingredients:
2 eggs
9 sausages
9 slices of toast bread
100 g of processed cheese
50 g of butter
pepper
salt
Step by step recipe:
- On each piece, cut the baked crust on all four sides and lightly press with a rolling pin. So the future “wrapper” for the sausage becomes thinner and easier to twist.
- Grease a piece of slightly rolled bread with a little melted cheese, put it on the edge of the sausage, and turn the tube, completely wrapping it.
- Beat eggs on a plate, add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Beat the mixture with a fork. We lower the sausage wrapped in bread into it.
- Fry lazy sausages in batter in butter and turn so that they turn brown on all sides. Serve with ketchup or mustard. Sour cream with finely chopped dill and a clove of garlic is also suitable for sausages in bread.
