President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived in Washington on August 31 on a working visit. The first official meeting of the two heads of state Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden is scheduled for September 1.

The visit to the White House will demonstrate support for Ukraine’s sovereignty in the face of Russia’s capture of Crimea and support for armed separatists in the east. The White House also said Biden intends to encourage Zelensky’s efforts to fight corruption in the country.
The president’s office said that during the meeting, Zelensky and Biden would discuss, in particular, countering Russian aggression, energy security, military cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, and Nord Stream-2.
During the working visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington, a memorandum was signed between NNEGC Energoatom and Westinghouse Electric on joint work on the Khmelnytskyi NPP as a pilot project.
President Volodymyr Zelensky has already met in Washington with Energy Minister Jennifer Grengolm and Bill Nelson, director of the National Aerospace Agency. They discussed with him NASA space projects, which Ukraine can join and which require our technologies.
The United States and Ukraine have signed an agreement on the basics of defense partnership.
