As it became known, the incident took place in the US state of Mississippi. Part of the highway collapsed there. Cars one after another fell into the cliff. As a result of the incident, two people died and many more were injured of varying severity. Law enforcement officers and doctors arrived at the scene. The victims were hospitalized.

According to guards, the collapse of the road could have occurred due to heavy rains that caused Hurricane Ida. The car drivers, not noticing the disappearance of the carriageway, continued to move and fell into the cliff.
The vehicles were taken out using a crane. Due to the destruction on the road, school buses will not be able to transport children to the school. The authorities were forced to suspend schooling.
