Academic scholarships for students of higher and professional higher education institutions will be increased more than 1.5 times from January 2022.

The relevant decision was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on September 1.
In addition, scholarships for vocational students will be increased more than 2.5 times.
Also, according to the government decision, nominal scholarships for pupils and students will be increased.
According to Education Minister Serhiy Shkarlet, the last increase in academic scholarships took place in 2017.
“This is an important step towards students, which should further motivate them to learn and reach scientific and educational heights. In addition, the scholarships of the President of Ukraine to the winners of the Petro Jacyk International Ukrainian Language Competition and the Taras Shevchenko International Language and Literature Competition for Pupils and Students will also be increased, ”the Minister of Education said.
Currently, the number of recipients of academic scholarships in institutions of higher and professional higher education will be 35-40% of the actual number of full-time students studying under the state (regional) order at one faculty (department), a course in a particular specialty.
The Ministry of Education notes that the size of the minimum ordinary (regular) academic scholarship for students of vocational education institutions increases from 490 to 1250 UAH per month.
The amount of scholarships for students of professional higher education institutions who obtain the educational and qualification level “junior specialist”, educational and professional degree “professional junior bachelor”, educational degree “bachelor”, except for those studying in specialties (specializations) for which academic scholarships in the increased size, increases from 980 to 1510 UAH per month; for which academic scholarships are set at an increased rate, increases from 1250 to 1930 UAH per month.
Scholarships for students of higher education institutions, research institutions that obtain an educational or educational-professional degree “junior bachelor”, educational degrees “bachelor”, “specialist” or “master”, except for those studying in specialties (specializations) for which they are established academic scholarships in the increased amount, increase from 1300 to 2000 UAH per month; for which academic scholarships are set at an increased rate, increases from 1660 to 2550 UAH per month.
