A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China on Saturday.

According to him, the quake was registered in the Khotan district, located near the border with Pakistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the county of Pishan (in Uighur Guma), the center was at a depth of 7 km.
There were no reports of casualties or destruction in Hotan, home to more than 2.5 million people.
A powerful earthquake also struck northwestern China in late August. Then the tremors were recorded at the junction of the provinces of Qinghai and Gansu.
