The charity Direct Relief has delivered a humanitarian cargo of innovative coronavirus drugs to Ukraine worth tens of millions of dollars.

“With the assistance of the Embassy, the humanitarian cargo was delivered to Ukraine from the United States, which was provided by the American charity Direct Relief. The latest agreements on the receipt of this humanitarian cargo were agreed upon during the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States.
The cargo consists of the innovative drugs Bamlanivimab and Etesevimab, which are used against COVID-19, “the message reads.
The embassy said that the total cost of the cargo reaches 20 million US dollars.
The drug is recommended for patients with mild to moderate coronavirus disease, especially if there is a risk of severe transition.
“Cargo in the form of 60,000 vials of medicines will continue to be cleared and transported in 24 regions of Ukraine. In this, we would like to express our special gratitude to the Yevhen Pivovarov Charitable Foundation, which will assist in all procedures. The distribution of medicines is coordinated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, ”the embassy wrote.
