Most modern messengers and social networks let you know when your friends were last online. This is a useful hint to find out if you should expect a quick response. However, not everyone needs to know that you did not sleep until 4 am last night. WhatsApp is working on new privacy features, including information about when you last logged in to Messenger. It will be recalled that the messenger also tested a feature that, on the contrary, contradicts confidentiality.

New privacy tools are already under development. They will allow you to precise control who can see certain parts of your profile. Currently, “Last Visit”, “Profile Picture” and “About Myself” can be seen by everyone, your contacts, or no one at all. There are no settings for configuration, such as in Telegram. These restrictions will be lifted soon, as WhatsApp is testing the ability to exclude certain contacts from being allowed to view your status.
This option will also be supported for viewing profile photos and resumes, which will give you more control over your privacy. Disabling the Last Visit setting will remain a two-way effect. If you hide it from a group of people in your contact list, WhatsApp will hide their information in response. The same option is offered on Instagram.
Although the new feature has been noticed in iOS, it should appear on all smartphones when it is ready to work. By the way, last month WhatsApp launched a feature to transfer chats between iOS and Android.
