The reason for the detention was the endangerment of the lives of other people. Moreover, he threatened not only the passers-by below, risking falling on them, but also three young climbers aged 21 to 33, who decided to keep him company during the ascent.
Robert stormed this tower for the 11th time and finally reached the roof. In this way, he protested against COVID passports. This is a document confirming that the owner has been vaccinated, tested negative for coronavirus, or recently recovered from an infection. It is required for access to bars, restaurants, museums, and other cultural sites, as well as mass events and intercity public transport.
“This is an ascent against the health skip that annoys everyone. This is an attack on fundamental freedoms, this pass is a shame, ”Alain said in a comment to reporters.
Robert added that his last ascent was also “a tribute to Jean-Paul Belmondo, who performed his own stunts.” The French actor passed away on September 6 at the age of 88.
The extreme Frenchman became famous all over the world for having climbed more than a hundred skyscrapers and other city monuments. At the same time, he rises only holding onto the protruding parts of buildings with his hands, without using insurance and climbing equipment, for which he received the nickname “Spider-Man”. In addition, he almost never has permission to carry out such dangerous climbs.
