The “Blue-Yellows” tried to attack quickly but did not manage to bring their player to a comfortable position for a long time. When the pressure of the hosts eased a bit, Petrakov’s wards played a multi-pass combination, which became a great example of an effective flank game. The right lateral, Timchik, fired, and the left, Kornienko, fired powerfully into the near upper corner. Zinchenko started the attack with a long pass from the center of the field – 0: 1.
After the break, the Czech team continued to operate as the number one. The hosts threatened Boyko’s goal from the standards, punched from afar, served to the penalty area. It is noteworthy that five newcomers made their debut for the national team of Ukraine at once, and one of them, Kornienko, scored the winning goal.
The next “match of the blue-yellows will be held on October 9 in Helsinki – against Finland in the qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
