A military helicopter crashed in northern Côte d’Ivoire during a reconnaissance mission near the border with Burkina Faso, killing all five crew members, according to Reuters, citing the Ministry of Defense.

An investigation has been launched to establish the causes of the accident, the ministry said in a statement.
The type of air vehicle and the preliminary causes of the accident are not specified.
Last year, the border areas of Côte d’Ivoire from Burkina Faso became hotbeds of danger after several attacks by Islamist militants allegedly linked to al-Qaeda, according to Reuters.
At the end of August, a Su-24 military plane carrying two pilots crashed in the Perm region (Russia).
