The volcano erupted on Friday on the southwestern island of Suvanose in Japan.

As a result of the event, within a radius of 1 km from the crater, an eruption of volcanic rocks was recorded. Seismologists warn of the possibility of continued volcanic activity on the island. In this regard, the district declared the third level of danger on a five-point scale. This means that the volcano cannot be approached at a distance of less than 2 km.
No casualties or damage were reported on the island. Today it is home to about 80 people, and their village is 4 km from the volcano.
Suvanose is a small island located 230 km northwest of the large city of Kagoshima. The previous time the volcano erupted there was in June.
At the end of August, the Shiveluch volcano erupted a 3,000-meter-high ash column in Kamchatka.
