“The Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada do not prohibit consideration of the law, even if it is sent to the Venice Commission …”, – Razumkov said.
He stressed that he personally would be interested to hear the opinion of the Venice Commission, not only after the adoption of the bill on the oligarchs but also before.
“Today’s position on next Thursday was unrealistic. Rather, it is unrealistic, because next week I want to understand how the committee went, why no one was invited once. Two, next week you need to understand how long it will take the relevant department of the Verkhovna Rada to prepare this bill for consideration. It will take a long time, a few days for sure, ”Razumkov said.
The Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence supported the final version of the law on de-oligarchization and recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt it in the second reading.
The People’s Service expects that 5,600 bills on oligarchs will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada next week.
On July 1, the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis the draft law of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky № 5559 on de-oligarchization.
Later it became known that the Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova sent a letter to the Speaker of Parliament Dmitry Razumkov with a request to send the bill on oligarchs for inspection to the Venice Commission. On September 10, Razumkov announced that the bill had been sent there for legal examination.
Subsequently, the “Venetian” received a request from Ukraine for an examination of the bill on the oligarchs.
According to the President’s representative in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Fedor Venislavsky, the expert conclusions of the Venice Commission are of a recommendatory nature, which means that they will not interfere with the adoption of the bill “on oligarchs.”
