Ukraine will produce batteries for the production of electric cars in Europe.

“We recently signed a memorandum with Prime Minister Mr. Shmygal on the production of batteries for electric cars, and we want Ukraine to become part of the electric car production chain throughout Europe,” he said.
Wollert added that the European Union expects that against the background of the plan to combat climate change in Ukraine, new sectors of the economy will appear in Ukraine, which will be integrated into the European economy and will be more innovative.
The Minister-Counselor also noted that the world’s car giants are already abandoning the production of cars on the now popular types of fuel and in 10 years will produce only electric cars.
Electric transport in Ukraine:
In July, parliament passed laws to stimulate the development of the electric transport industry, aimed at stimulating the development of production in Ukraine of electric vehicles, chargers, and accessories. They shall enter into force on 1 January 2022.
In April, Ukravtodor and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development launched a project to develop infrastructure for electric vehicles.
