The British film Belfast won the Grand Prix of the 46th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). This was announced on Saturday by the organizers of the film festival.

The semi-biographical drama by British director Kenneth Bran tells the story of the childhood of a boy played by ten-year-old Jude Hill. The world premiere of the film took place in Toronto, it will be released on November 12.
TIFF was held from 9 to 18 September. In 2021, it presented 132 films.
The Toronto Film Festival has been held since 1976 and is one of the largest in the world. Unlike other film festivals, there is no official jury at TIFF, and the main prize is the Audience Choice Award, which is awarded based on the results of the audience voting. In 2020, the winner was the film “Land of the Nomads” (Nomadland), working with the Chinese Chinese Chloe Zhao.
