Technical fortification work in Notre Dame de Paris has been completed, which allows beginning the main restoration of the cathedral.

Authorities said this on Saturday, September 18, reports Reuters.
The damaged parts of the building were reinforced with giant wooden frames in the shape of an arch. Next, experts will work to restore the former appearance of the cathedral, in particular, the 96-meter spire, designed in the mid-1800s.
Restoration work is expected to begin in the coming months after the tender of the contractors. Prior to that, the cleaning of the interior walls and floors of the building will begin in September.
Fire in Notre Dame: what happened
In Paris on April 15, 2019, a devastating fire broke out in Notre Dame de Paris (Notre Dame de Paris) – one of the most famous cathedrals in the world, founded in 1162.
The cathedral is considered one of the symbols of the French capital and one of the main attractions, which annually attracts millions of tourists from around the world. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris gained really wide popularity thanks to the historical novel of the same name by the writer Victor Hugo in 1831.
In July 2020, the French authorities made the final decision on the reconstruction of the famous Cathedral. Emmanuel Macron approved a project to restore the cathedral as it was before the fire.
In April 2021, Paris reported on the restoration work. In particular, at that time, experts have already fixed the walls and spread a giant cover from the rain. Workers formed the vaults of the cathedral from wood. Inside, special sensors have been installed, which should warn about the fragility of the structures. The restorers promised to complete the main consolidation work by the end of the summer.
In addition, Emmanuel Macron promised to open the cathedral to parishioners by 2024, when the Olympic Games will be held in France.
