A full moon with a “bloody” tint rose over Zaporizhzhia on the evening of September 20. The clear sky made it possible to see the lunar phenomenon in all its beauty.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – September 22, 2021 – Reports
The unusual phenomenon was captured by the Zaporizhzhia photographer Aleksey Tolmachev.
In addition, Alexey shared pictures of several more atmospheric phenomena. One of them is called “pillars of light” and the other “paraselene”.
What is a “light pole”:
A visual atmospheric phenomenon, a vertical streak of light that extends from the sun as it sets or rises. In rare cases, the light column may be accompanied by a so-called pair of circles. It is a light streak that is visible in the sky at the same height as the Sun.
What is “paraselene”:
The false moon, or paraselene, also represents light spots that appear to the left and right of the light source – the Moon. Such a phenomenon is a very rare phenomenon because only a full or almost full moon is needed for its appearance.
