Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg has said that more than 560 days have passed since the toughest measures were taken in Norway in peacetime.
“Now is the time to return to normal daily life,” Solberg said.
The Prime Minister noted that the restrictions will end on Saturday at 16:00 Central European Time (18:00 Kyiv time).
According to The Local, Solberg said that now life in Norway will return to almost the same level as it was before the outbreak of the pandemic.
“I don’t think it’s going to be the way it used to be. I think the coronavirus will affect us for the rest of our lives, for better or worse. We’ve learned how vulnerable we are and how much we can achieve when we’re stuck together, “she said.
Norway will abolish the requirement of social distancing and restrictions on the number of people at mass events. The requirement not to let visitors into the establishments after midnight will also be abolished – nightclub visitors will be able to dance again.
However, those who test positive for coronavirus will need to isolate themselves, and vaccinated people living with someone infected will also need to be quarantined.
In the United Kingdom and Ireland in connection with the successful mass vaccination against COVID-19 quarantine restrictions are lifted. In particular, the UK simplifies the rules of entry – from October 4, countries, depending on the epidemic situation, will be considered “open” or “red”, the system of “traffic lights” is abolished.
