Denmark will extend the ban on mink breeding for one year – until 2023. This was stated on Tuesday by Agriculture Minister Rasmus Pren.
Kyiv. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – September 29, 2021 – Reports
The current ban, which was introduced last year after the coronavirus spread to several hundred mink farms and prompted the government to order the killing of all minks in the country, will run until 2022.
The decision has yet to be ratified by parliament, but local media report that it is supported by a majority of parliamentarians.
The move was based on the findings of the country’s leading institute of infectious diseases, which said in June this year that mink farming could still pose a threat to public health.
