According to the singer’s lawyer Matthew Rosengart, Britney’s father Jamie Spears is a “cruel, toxic person and abuser” who is accused of installing a recording device in his daughter’s bedroom.
“We learned that Mr. Spears … instructed security guards paid for by my client to install eavesdropping devices in her bedroom,” the lawyer said.
In 2008, Britney Spears was declared partially incapacitated due to drug problems and mental disorders.
For more than 10 years, the singer’s finances, including a multimillion-dollar trust fund, were controlled by her father, James Spears, and a lawyer. The singer said that she was constantly forced to work and perform on stage. According to Spears, she was also banned from remarrying and having children.
In July this year, the court allowed Spears to choose a lawyer. He became Matthew Rosengart, who previously defended the interests of actor Sean Penn, director Steven Spielberg, actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and others. Rosengart accused the singer’s father of abuse of guardianship and embezzlement of the singer.
