The eruption of one of the most active volcanoes in the world – Kilauea – began in Hawaii.

The US Geological Survey has confirmed that an eruption has occurred in the Halemaumau crater at the top of the Kilauea volcano.
Fountains of lava and clouds of volcanic gas could be seen in footage from a webcam filming the crater. The eruption takes place within the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park, there are no residential buildings nearby.
“We do not see any signs that the lava is moving to the lower part of the eastern rift zone, where people live. Currently, all activities take place within the park, “said Ken Hon, a scientist at the US Geological Survey.
It is reported that the level of danger of the volcano has been increased to “warning”, and the aviation code has been changed to red.
Kilauea is the youngest terrestrial volcano in Hawaii and the most active in the world, with a height of 1247 m. Its largest eruption occurred in 1959, during which lava fountains were 600 m high.
In 1977, the volcano resumed.
The last large-scale eruption occurred in 2018. More than 700 houses were destroyed and thousands of residents evacuated.
On September 19, the eruption of the volcano Cumbre Vieja on the Spanish island of La Palma began.
Yesterday, the lava of the volcano “met” with the ocean, which provoked emissions of harmful gases.
