For the first time at the national award Global Teacher Prize Ukraine the winner in the nomination “Frontline teacher” was noted. The winner was Tamara Umanska, a teacher from Kreminna in the Luhansk region.

The teacher has a number of high pedagogical achievements, awards, and publications and is actively involved in community development. In addition to working at the school, she has also been involved in volunteering for over 6 years and translating socially significant works.
The teacher together with the students participates in various educational projects, exchanges, and performances. The jury of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2021 noted its “superpower” – to dedicate themselves to their work 100% and involve students in truly valuable initiatives.
The organizers of the award note that this is not just a story of their own achievements, but the maximum involvement of the school and children, and this is very important.
How Tamara Umanska reacted to the victory
The teacher stressed that this is the first such nomination in Ukraine, but she wants it to be the last.
That we never had frontline teachers again, and we were all just teachers of Ukraine, from Luhansk to Donetsk,
- said, Tamara Umansky.
Now the winner will go on an educational trip, and the schools of ten finalist teachers in the nomination will receive 300 thousand hryvnias for technology.
