“Actor Clint Eastwood and Garrapata, the company that owns the rights to his image, received $ 6.1 million on Friday in a lawsuit they filed against a Lithuanian company accused of using Mr. Eastwood’s image to make it look like he supported their products, ”the statement said.
Last year, Eastwood reportedly filed two lawsuits in federal court in Los Angeles against three CBD producers and marketers (CBD is cannabidiol, the main substance in cannabis, better known as marijuana), whose products were misrepresented in an online article that erroneously claimed that he supports CBD products, as well as 10 online stores, which he accused of manipulating search results through meta tags.
According to the first lawsuit, the online article contained a fake interview with the publication. It included a photograph of Mr. Eastwood.
“Mr. Eastwood has nothing to do with any CBD products and has never given such an interview,” the court documents said.
