Today, October 7, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu will pay a working visit to Lviv at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported about it.

“On October 7-8, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu will pay a working visit to Ukraine (Lviv) at the invitation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba,” the statement said.
It is noted that the heads of Ukrainian and Turkish diplomacy will hold the ninth meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group in Lviv.
The talks are aimed at preparing for a high-level Strategic Council chaired by the Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey in early 2022 in Kyiv.
Ministers will give priority to the security situation in the Black Sea region and preparations for this year’s meeting in Ankara of the Ukrainian-Turkish Quadriga – political and security consultations at the level of heads of foreign and defense ministries of Ukraine and Turkey.
The ministers will also discuss further cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Crimean Platform, as well as the state of implementation of agreements, reached the highest political level, and prospects for Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in key areas.
During the visit, the Foreign Minister will open a Ukrainian-Turkish business forum to create new economic opportunities for Ukrainian and Turkish companies.
On October 8, Dmytro Kuleba and Mevlyut Cavusoglu will visit Lviv National University. I. Franko, where they will take part in the international conference “Diplomacy unites: the latest prospects of common traditions”.
During their stay in Lviv, the ministers will lay flowers at the burial place of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Lviv and honor the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who laid down their lives defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.
The diplomats will also visit the memorial to Turkish soldiers killed during the First World War in the village of Lopushnya, Rohatyn district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
During a working visit to the United States last month, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan from the UN rostrum in New York stated that Turkey supports the preservation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and never recognizes the annexation of Crimea.
