In the Indonesian province of West Java, eleven students drowned and another 10 were rescued during a clean-up operation on the river.

Local authorities said 150 high school students were involved in cleaning up by the river when 21 of them fell into the water.
“Those children who drowned were holding hands. One of them slipped and the others – behind him,” said the head of the search and rescue department of Bandung.
Local residents and a rescue team managed to rescue 10 students who were sent to the nearest hospital.
Some local media reported that students tried to cross the river, which is popular with rafting and tubing enthusiasts when they fell.
Rains cause frequent landslides and flash floods in Indonesia, where millions of people live in mountainous areas or near floodplains.
