The international football organization FIFA helped a group of Afghan footballers leave the country. According to a report made by FIFA on Friday, October 15, in Frankfurt am Main, with the support of the Qatari government, almost 100 athletes from Afghanistan were flown to a safe place in Doha.

In early September, FIFA President Gianni Infantino had already visited Afghan refugees in Doha. In Qatar, the facilities of the 2022 FIFA World Cup are currently being used as temporary accommodation for refugees.
Ukrainians were offered an evacuation from Afghanistan to Russia in exchange for a video stating that they had been “thrown at random.”
