Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate. October 24,2021- Bella supermarkets have started selling burgers that are almost 40% cherry in Austria.
Cutlet “Eat For Future” brand is produced by the Vienna Insect Company ZIRP. It consists of 38% crushed larvae of the beetle Alphitobius diaperinus (known as “flour worms”, and considered by experts to be a particularly promising source of environmentally friendly animal protein). Another 29% of the composition – mushrooms, 9% – pea protein.
A vacuum pack of two burger slices weighing 200 grams costs 5.99 euros.
ZIRP Insects intends to develop a range of products under the “Eat For Future” brand, and cork has been spent on spent kuru products.
“It was exciting and innovative work,” said Christoph Tomann, founder and CEO of ZIRP Insects. “The insects are perfect for processing. They have a delicate nutty taste and can be easily incorporated into popular recipes when ground up.”
According to the company, in combination with mushrooms and pea protein, a special recipe creates a taste similar to meat, but not 100%.
It should be noted that the production of such cutlets became possible after the approval of the use of flour worms for food production at the EU level in May. A similar issue is being considered for some other insects.
