Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate-October 26,2021- Ukraine produced 562.3 thousand tons of sugar as of October 23, and processed 4.20 million tons of sugar beet.
Sugar beets are processed in 29 sugar refineries across the country.
Also, this year’s sugar refining season in Ukraine officially started on August 21. According to data provided by the Ministry of Economy, sugar production in Ukraine is expected to reach 1.4 million tons.
And in 2020, the sugar refining season in Ukraine began on September 5, with 30 sugar refineries operating across the country. Ukraine produced 1.1 million tons of sugar, which is 25% less than the previous year.
