Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate-October 27,2021- About 49,700 Ukrainian citizens obtained temporary (up to three years) or permanent (5-10 years) residence permits in Poland in the first three quarters of 2021, while the total number of Ukrainians with such documents rose to 293,800.
Whereas, as of early October, a total of 525,000 foreigners held temporary or permanent residence permits in Poland, 56% of whom were citizens of Ukraine.
About 63% of foreigners hold temporary residence documents in Poland, 20% of foreigners have permanent residence permits or EU resident status, and another 15% are EU citizens who have registered their residence in Poland.
In addition to Ukrainians, the largest groups of foreigners who have received a residence permit in Poland are Belarusians (37,100), Germans (19700), Russians (13,700), Vietnamese (11,200) and Indians (10,900).
The regions most popular with foreigners are Masovian Voivodeship (Warsaw) with 139,900 permit holders, Lesser Poland (Krakow) with 62,600 holders, Greater Poland (Poznan) with 48,800 permit holders, and Lower Silesia (Wroclaw) With 43,600.
However, this list does not include foreigners residing in Poland on a visa or through visa-free travel.
It is estimated that there are currently about 1.5 million Ukrainians residing in Poland.
