The Zaporizhzhya Regional State Administration noted that they were saddened by the news of the death of the legend of our time with a heroic life path. It was emphasized that Zaluzhny was an example of courage and patriotism for the entire current generation of Ukrainians.

He stressed that the name of Zaluzhny in the Zaporozhye region and throughout Ukraine is associated with very heroic and patriotic memories. Like, he defended our country from the “brown plague”, and his grandson gave his life for Ukraine.
The native grandson of the veteran, Ivan Gutnik-Zaluzhny, continued his military service. After the beginning of the Russian aggression on Donbass, he went as the volunteer in anti-terrorist operation. The young man died in the summer of 2014 near Amvrosiyivka in the Donetsk region. At the cost of his own life, a 23-year-old boy saved the lives of 50 brothers. At the funeral, the soldier’s grandfather addressed the Russian veterans. He called on them to influence Putin and stop the war in Donbass.
