Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 2,2021- The OSCE SMM recorded 988 ceasefire violations in the Donetsk region and 471 in the Luhansk region between October 29 and October 31.
“In the Donetsk region, between the evenings of October 29 and 31, the SMM recorded 988 ceasefire violations, including 139 explosions (five impacts and 134 unspecified),” the report reads.
Where the majority of violations occurred within and in the south of the disengagement zone near Petevsky (non-government-controlled, 41 km south of Donetsk) in the evening and night of October 29-30, as well as in the Northern Shirokin (government-controlled, 100 km south of Donetsk) regions on the evenings and nights of 29 -30 and 30-31, and during the day on October 31, as well as in the areas west of the Oktyabr mine (not under government control, 9 kilometers northwest of Donetsk city center) in the evening of October 31.
In that period, the Special Monitoring Mission recorded 321 ceasefire violations in the area, most of which also occurred in the areas of North Cherokee.
In the Luhansk region over the weekend, OSCE monitors recorded “471 ceasefire violations, including 62 explosions (20 lacerations and 42 explosions of unknown origin).”
The majority of ceasefire violations also occurred in the southwest area of the disengagement zone near Stansya Luhanska (government-controlled, 16 kilometers northeast of Luhansk) on October 31, assessed as live-fire exercises in violation of the MAC decision. The tripartite contact group on March 3, 2016, which banned live-fire exercises in the security zone, and in the areas west and southwest of the disengagement zone near Zolote (government-controlled, 60 km west of Luhansk) on October 30.
In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 436 ceasefire violations in the area, almost all of which occurred in areas close to the disengagement zone near Zolote.
