Kyiv law enforcement officers exposed a man who was accepting expensive jewelry for repairs, after which he did not return the products and did not get in touch.

A local resident contacted the Kyiv police and said that she had handed over jewelry to a jewelry workshop on Sosiny Family Street, but could not return them because the master did not get in touch and did not show up at work. Law enforcement officers registered the incident with the district police department and began an investigation.
During the pre-trial investigation, police found that the man had deceived ten other citizens.
It turned out that the customers brought the “jeweler” expensive jewelry for repairs and the man gave them a receipt, but did not return the products and did not get in touch. A 40-year-old foreigner fraudulently seized citizens’ property worth UAH 287,000, ”said Maksym Sakhno, an investigator with the Sviatoshynskyi Police Department.
In agreement with the Sviatoshynsky District Prosecutor’s Office, the investigator informed the defendant about the suspicion of committing 11 episodes of crimes under Part 2 and Part 1 of Art. 190 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (fraud). The sanction of the article envisages up to three years of imprisonment.
