Social Worker’s Day
On the first Sunday of November in Ukraine, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 13.04.1999 № 374/99, the Day of the social worker is celebrated.
This holiday is a testament to the state’s high appreciation of the role of workers who ensure the daily implementation of state policy on social protection, employment, pay and safety, labor relations.

On November 7, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the righteous Tavifa, who was known for her charity and hard work. She lived in Joppa (now Jaffa) in the I century. Also, the martyrs Marcian and Martyr, the Reverend Matron, are mentioned.
