Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 7,2021- Prime Minister Dennis Schmigel is confident that the draft state budget for 2022 will remain realistic and balanced in preparation for the second reading.
He stressed that “this week, the people’s representatives supported, in the first reading, the draft state budget for 2022, which was submitted by the government. We presented a realistic and balanced budget, and it will remain unchanged until the second reading.”
According to Shmygal, the figures speak best about the budget priorities.
In particular, he reminded that the amount of funds under the medical guarantee program is growing by UAH 34 billion. The minimum salary of a doctor will be set at UAH 20,000, and for nurses – at UAH 13.5 thousand. Consolidated budget expenditures on education – more than 7% of GDP.
Increasing pensions, building new roads, digitizing reform, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses remain priorities, Shmygal added.
As reported, on November 2, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading the draft state budget for 2022. After that, the Cabinet of Ministers will finalize the document before the second reading.
According to the law, the budget must be approved in the second reading no later than November 20.
