Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 8,2021- The State Bureau of Investigation has filed indictments against two commanders of jet artillery batteries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the case of the October 2015 explosions in Svatovo.
“In September 2015, the commanders placed military equipment near a potentially dangerous object – a field ammunition depot near the town of Svatove, Luhansk region,” the statement said.
On October 29, 2015, a fire broke out in a military warehouse due to a sabotage . It caused the detonation of ammunition that exploded and hit the specified military equipment.
This led to the destruction of military property, including MLRS “Hurricane” and transport and charging vehicles to them, by 18 million UAH.
These military personnel are accused of negligent attitude to military service in a special period (Part 3 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
If convicted, they face up to 7 years in prison.
It is noted that the DBR continues to take all necessary measures to identify those involved in the sabotage of the artillery depot.
On February 11, law enforcement officers informed two servicemen about the suspicion of negligence in their official duties, which led to explosions at an artillery depot in Svatove.
In May DBR investigators completed a pre-trial investigation into the explosions of military depots in Svatovo.
