Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 9,2021- A SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule has landed off the coast of Florida with four astronauts on board, completing its six-month stay in space.
The departure from the International Space Station also began on Monday at 14:05 (21:05 Kiev time). For nearly nine hours, the spacecraft moved into orbit, approached Earth, then turned on the engines to safely enter the dense atmosphere, opened parachutes and landed in the Gulf of Mexico at about 22:30 (5:30 Kiev time).
A fleet of rescue ships was waiting to land and brought NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan MacArthur, French astronaut Tom Pesci of the European Space Agency and Japanese Akihiko Hoside ashore.
During their stay in space, they conducted many scientific experiments and even tested hot peppers, which were first grown in space. They also went to outer space, and ran into some difficulties when a Russian spacecraft failed to dock with the International Space Station and briefly idled.
The Crew Dragon capsule had a problem in the toilet, so the astronauts had to use a diaper when they got home.
The crew returned to Earth before the next team arrived on the International Space Station, whose launch was postponed first due to weather conditions, and then due to a “minor medical problem” in one of the astronauts. Last week, NASA announced that the launch could take place on Wednesday.
