It is noted that a 49-year-old resident of the Nemyriv Territorial Community turned to the police with a statement about the theft of a Honda scooter. The woman said that she left the vehicle on the street with the keys in the ignition.
SWhile working out the territory of the settlement where the crime took place, on one of the streets the police noticed a guy who was riding them on a scooter, similar to the description of the victim. Noticing a police car, the juvenile began to flee. Police officers caught up with the offender in a field outside the village. The malefactor turned out to be a 13-year-old local resident, the press service of the police reported.
It should be noted that the investigation initiated criminal proceedings in accordance with Part 1 of Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal possession of a vehicle). The sanction of the article envisages up to five years of imprisonment. Since the responsibility for committing such a crime begins at the age of 16, the police will apply to the court to apply educational measures to the offender.
