Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 13,2021- The Ministry of Energy has introduced measures to save up to 500,000 tons of coal per month for a stable heating season.
According to him, 10 days ago, the first power unit of the nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine was out of repair, which will give an additional 1,000 megawatts to the system and reduce coal consumption by thermal generation to 350 thousand tons per month.
Kyiv CHP-5 and CHP-6, Kharkiv CHP-5 on natural gas with a total capacity of 600 MW will also be launched. Which, in turn, will further reduce coal consumption by about 150 thousand tons of coal per month.
“By doing so, we enable generating companies to replenish coal stocks in warehouses,” said the First Deputy Minister.
Today, the power system has 12 nuclear power units with a total capacity of about 11 thousand MW.
About 1.9 million tons of coal are expected to be delivered to the thermal power plant in November. 1.4 million tons of Ukrainian production and 500 thousand tons imported from Poland, the United States and Kazakhstan.
